Sick of 1990’s yellow and turquoise, I was so happy to have Rachel’s help with a new paint colour scheme to update my home. Her guidance to find the right colours, has helped me to give the house a completely new feeling, marking the change from the old to the new.
PHILIP, TOOWONG
Rachel has captured our family’s memories of childhood excitement and fun of being on holidays and given this room a new lease of life for guests of all ages. We all enjoy how Rachel has renewed many of the items we’ve always had, added some creature comforts, and included lime green - a key colour from our happy times there in the 1970s.
Patrick and family, Toowoomba
We used to avoid this space on our back deck until Rachel transformed it into a comfortable and inviting space. Now we all use it often and especially enjoy its flexibility and the low maintenance.

I was drawn to this colourful space, peeking out to the Brisbane River. I found it in a little breakout room at an exhibition called ‘Purpose Built - Architecture for a Better Tomorrow’.
Based on the artworks ‘Saltwater Dwelling Animal 2023’ by Amy Loogatha and ‘Barramundi Totem 2023’ by Dorita Escott, this installation, ‘Everything is Connected’, is a recognition of the importance of human centred design. It is also hoped to honour Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander peoples as the original creators of sustainability.
This exhibition looks back to how things have been done - from indigenous cultures to more recent past practices - for insights in to future proofing our built environment including using water sensitive designs in our inner suburbs.
It’s interesting to see ideas on how our dwellings and the way we develop our suburbs will need to change to cope with floods, droughts, higher temps, materials and the needs of an increasing population.

This is the first flower crop from my cut flower planting. 🙌 Picking something from the garden is a simple way to add a fresh pop of colour for a little boost of midweek home happiness.
Might try sweet peas next…what do you think?
